中大醫學院在第16屆中東國際發明展（IIFME）中屢獲佳績，兩個科研項目同獲評審團嘉許金獎，連同另外五項特別獎，一共勇奪七項殊榮，成績斐然，充分展現出醫學院的創新精神與卓越科研實力。
中大醫學院院長、信興教育及慈善基金機械人外科教授趙偉仁教授及其研究團隊，憑「用於血管內治療的磁性微/納米機器人」項目，囊括多項大獎，包括全場總冠軍、FIRI獎及評審團嘉許金獎。傳統手術器械的靈活性有限，而且體積較大，難以觸及人體許多狹小、曲折且遠端的部位。該發明利用磁性微或納米機械人到達這些具挑戰性的位置，以便能夠進行血管內治療，例如動脈瘤和缺血性中風等病症。
